Temari (テマリ Temari) is a supporting character of the series. She is a jonin-level shinobi of Sunagakure.

Appearance

Temari has teal eyes and sandy blond hair, which she puts up in four pigtails. She carries a Giant Folding Fan on her back, which she uses in battle to create massive wind.

Personality

Temari has been called "the most fearsome kunoichi". She enjoys seeing people suffer. At the Chūnin Exam, she battled with Tenten. Tenten was no match because her strong wind blew all of Tenten's weapons away. However, Tenten later defeated Temari in a rematch. Since then Temari shows great respect to Tenten.

History

Temari, along with her siblings Kankuro and Gaara, competed in the Chunin Exams. She was matched up against Tenten, and defeated her easily. Also, a lot of people have seen Temari and Shikamaru together, as shown in Episode 36.

Plot

In chapter 15 of the manga, Tenten challenges Temari to a rematch. She had previously beaten Tenten in the Chūnin Exams where Tenten stood no chance against her. Because of the unforeseen use of the Manipulated Tools: Breast Hammer technique Temari loses the match.

In chapter 22 of the manga, she appears alongside Shikamaru walking in the Konoha. She mentions to Shikamaru that she is soon heading back to Suna at which point the scroll that contains the Love at First Sight Technique rolls by. Shikamaru picks it up, promptly falls in love with Temari and confesses his love to her using his Shadow Technique. He proclaims that men should not let go of their women and takes her by the wrist, and seems about to drag her away.

Tessenjutsu

Tessenjutsu is a jutsu classification that involves a fan. It's commonly shared in Sunagakure, with Temari just being one of the prominent users. Temari uses her Giant Folding Fan to create strong winds like the Cyclone Jutsu. On her fan are three "moons", as she calls them. With each new moon revealed, her Jutsu's power increases. She also uses her fan to deflect other attacks or weapons. Her Chakra Transformation is Wind.
