Kakashi Hatake (はたけカカシ, Hatake Kakashi) is one of the main supporting characters of the series. He is the leader of Team Kakashi, a team that consists of Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, Sai, and previously, Sasuke Uchiha.
Background[]

During his years as a genin, he was placed on a team consisting of Obito Uchiha, Rin Nohara, and team leader Minato Namikaze. In his younger years, Kakashi was an Anbu with Yamato. Eventually, he left the Anbu and was put in charge of Team Kakashi.
Appearance[]
Kakashi is a shinobi, with spiky silver hair, and has dark-coloured eyes. He obtained a small vertical scar running over his left eye (which was soon replaced by a Sharingan). He dons the standard attire of a jōnin and wears short metal-plated gloves. He also wears his forehead protector on a simple blue band, tilted to the left to cover the Sharingan, and a mask which obscures the lower-half of his face, only revealing his left eye when ready to use it.
As a child, prior to obtaining his Sharingan, Kakashi wore a simple black outfit with the lower-half of his face concealed. He also wore a scarf with a simple design running along its length. During his early missions as a jōnin, he wore a black T-shirt with white stripes in the middle of the sleeves. On his arms, he wore black sleeves with metal arm protectors over them. He also had leather straps around his back and chest, and his family's White Light Chakra Sabre is kept in a small holder out in the back. He also wore pants similar to the ones he wears today.He was described as handsome by Sakura,Tenten,Ino,Naruto,Sasuke,Teuchi And Ayame
While an Anbu member, Kakashi wore the standard uniform which consisted of a simple blue suit with the standard flak jacket, strapped up sandals, and arm guards. Along with this he wore plated gloves that went all the way up to his arms with a bandage wrapped around the right one. Along with this he carried a sword strapped to his back and his mask was fashioned to resemble a dog's face with red and black markings around the eyes, sides and mouth. In addition, Kakashi has the Anbu tattoo on his left shoulder, and didn't wear a forehead protector during his time at Anbu.
Personality[]
Kakashi has a calm and mature personality. He is an avid reader of Make-Out Tactics, joking that he uses his mask to hide the blood that will come out of his nose whenever he reads the book. He is very loyal, but quickly dropped his position when offered a special, non-released book by Jiraiya.

Kakashi is presumably very good at taijutsu, as he has been shown being able to compete with masters like Might Guy.

Kakashi has a natural affinity for Lightning Release. He created Chidori, which he later refined into the far stronger Lightning Cutter. He can also use lightning release to increase an objects cutting power as shown when he combines it with his One Thousand Years of Death. He can also perform Water Release techniques without a nearby water source.

Kakashi's Sharingan.
Since the eye got transplanted into him, Kakashi's ability to copy nearly any technique used against him gave him the moniker Copy Ninja Kakashi (コピー忍者のカカシ, Kopī Ninja no Kakashi). Because he is not an Uchiha, Kakashi was unable to deactivate this dōjutsu and was forced to keep it covered when not needed. Because of this, Kakashi only relied on it when he felt it was an absolute necessity.
Mangekyō Sharingan[]

Kakashi's Mangekyō Sharingan.
Kakashi awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan. Its design is three stretched triangles evenly spaced around the pupil that each curve at the top around the eye to form a circle, making it similar to a pinwheel. With it, he can perform Kamui: a technique that creates a space-time barrier in the form of a swirling void that sucks any target he focuses his eye on to another dimension.
